RESIDENCE MS – A modest PIED-à-TERRE in harmony with its rural setting

This project involves the careful renovation of a modest rural dwelling, reimagined as a pied-à-terre. The existing structure was preserved and refined, with a focus on restoring its original character while introducing a sense of calm and coherence.

A mansard roof redefines the silhouette of the house, giving it a more grounded and timeless presence within its surroundings. Reclaimed materials were thoughtfully integrated throughout the project, adding depth, texture and a sense of continuity with the past.

The result is a compact and carefully composed pied-à-terre — a place of retreat, shaped by simplicity, material honesty, and a quiet dialogue with its rural context.
