RESIDENCE VH4 – A REFINED EXTENSION IN AN ENGLISH ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE

This project is a careful renovation and vertical extension of an existing single-family dwelling. The intervention builds upon the original ground floor structure, introducing an additional level that redefines the architectural identity of the house while maintaining continuity with its context.

The new upper volume is conceived in an English architectural language, articulated through a clear timber framework expression. Proportions and alignments are carefully controlled, ensuring a coherent and composed appearance. At ground level, the existing structure is preserved. The intervention is defined by a high level of detailing, with careful attention to junctions, transitions, and the relationship between existing and new elements.

The result is a balanced composition in which the extension does not dominate but completes the house—transforming it into a coherent and characterful dwelling with a strong architectural presence.
